Steven Smith is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He only cares about living life at his own pace, and won't let others interfere with it. His two greatest passions in life are driving around and listening to classic rock. To further this motivation, Steven works as a cab driver during the day, and transports criminals who pay well to and from wherever they need to be at night.

Steven's got everything a crook could want from a cabbie. Doesn't care what you're doing, doesn't deviate from the plan, and never asks questions. The latter could just be because Steven's a mute, but anyone who ever laid a notebook and pen in front of him learned quick that he just doesn't have much to say. He isn't anything special, but Steven Smith can be a reliable asset if you ever need a ride, wherever you may be going.

Background

He's a cab driver.

That's all.

CC1

He drove a couple criminals to a museum for a heist, and they fucked it up by burning down the whole building and killing 5,000.

Steven then died in a maze game, being killed by Kai Albright.

That's all.

Gate of Dragons

Steven wakes up alive in a hospital about 40 years after dying in a maze.

He took a job from Kaliban and Sen to steal an artifact, and then the game was cancelled.

That's all.

Look, Steven doesn't dwell on the details, so I won't either.

Game Statistics and Mechanics

In CC1, every player had a penalty based on the crimes which brought them to the game. The first game to truly give Steven his own personal stats though was Gate of Dragons. There, Steven had all-around good stats, save ESP in which he bears no affinity. Steven doesn't particularly excel at anything, but he's in decent physical shape for a guy who spends most of his day sitting in a car. Speaking of his automobile, his was modified by the game's host to give him a competitive edge. So within the space of GoD, Steven's car has a few unique traits.

Name Type Description
Mute
(CC1, GoD)
Bane Steven Smith is physically incapable of talking. Sign language is also off the table, as he is untaught. He can only communicate with others through writing, gestures, or other forms of non-verbal communication.
Timebomb
(CC1)
Bane There is a bomb strapped to your chest. It will detonate a small explosion in 60 minutes. The only way to unlock it is the keypad on the back, and the combination is in the safe at the middle of the maze. One problem though: you can’t deactivate this bomb yourself, and asking others for help might be a bit problematic…
GETAWAY DRIVER
(GoD)
Boon Steven knows how to get to places with admirable agility. As an action, he can summon a version of his car, and quickly travel to a landmarked location on the map (will be marked) instantly, even if he hasn't been there yet. This car also has all the usual car assets, including a radio, an air freshener, and a set of fuzzy dice.
DEJA VU
(GoD)
Skill Sometimes, Steven can’t abide by the rules of the road. With his boosted ability, Steven can drive to any location he desires, and even has the choice to bring a single person with him. He is a taxi driver, after all! Perhaps the greatest addition of all is how this gives you another set of fuzzy dice!
